Tail had suffered damage in a narrow escape. Ended up under the rubber insulation footer of our garage door. Rescued using paper bag and carefully returned to a large pile of leaves in woods at bottom of our yard! Looked much happier there! Tuesday 10 May 2005: Black Spotted Common Garter Snake (coloration varient) in need of some TLC! Tail had suffered damage in a narrow escape. This one was rather exhausted and I nearly mistook it for a leaf on the lawn while mowing in the evening light. Moved it to near the woods behind our house to recover.
