Spring visitor. They emerge twice a year, first time in mid-April, to breed. Endangered species due to pollution in environment. Unique to N.America and the Appalatian decidious forest region.

This one was rather exhausted and I nearly mistook it for a leaf on the lawn while mowing in the evening light. Moved it to near the woods behind our house to recover.
